The practice has an emphasis on providing:
- Family centred early childhood intervention for children with delayed/disordered communication centre or home based ( 0-12 years)
- Parent education programs including:
More Than Words –The Hanen Program® for parents of a child with Autism Spectrum disorder or similar learning style
It Takes Two To Talk® – the Hanen program for parents of a child with a communication delay/disorder.
Heather is a member of Autism Nexus consortium attached to St Anthony’s Family Care at Croydon NSW. Families can access services utilising the Helping Children with Autism funding from the federal government. - Early Childhood Educator training including: Learning Language and Loving It or Teacher Talk –The Hanen Programs® for Early Childhood educators.
- Adult training in subjects such as: early language development; principles of key word signing; using visual communication strategies;
- 123 Magic and Emotion Coaching – to help parents manage children’s difficult behaviour.
All services are personalised to the child and family, and are evidenced based.
FAQS
- Do I need a doctor’s referral?
No - you can make the referral yourself. Just ring to discuss your concerns.
- What about the fees?
- The fees are set to reflect an hourly rate for all service types including consultations, report writing, pre-school or day care visits.
- Rebates are available through private health insurance however you should check with your fund to determine your level of cover.
- The practice is registered with Medicare for patients who have an Enhanced Primary Care plan from their GP or Pervasive Developmental Disorder plan from their specialist.
